MicroStrategy releases SaaS-based business intelligence platform

MicroStrategy, a business intelligence (BI) software provider, announced that it has stepped into the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) sector with the release of MicroStrategy 9.

MicroStrategy 9, which is a BI platform tailored specifically for SaaS companies, includes user design features, in-memory BI enabling higher data scalability, third-party security integration and plug-in architecture.

The platform is also optimized for expanding multi-tenant environments, while the open platform accommodates easy customization, user personalization and rebranding.

“SaaS BI solutions are an increasingly appealing alternative for organizations that need to share essential business intelligence data across the organization, but lack sufficient resources to implement and maintain these technologies in-house,” said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy COO. “Companies that offer a SaaS model will find that MicroStrategy enables them to build a flexible and scalable, multi-tenant BI architecture in a highly cost-effective manner.”

Not only are SaaS applications in high demand within MicroSrategy itself – SaaS-based BI solutions now represent the fastest growing area within the company’s OEM program – but they also are rapidly growing in popularity in the IT sector as a whole.

A recent survey from Saugatuck Technologies found that 40 percent of small businesses and 37 of large business are using SaaS technology, while 65 percent of small businesses and 57 percent of larger corporations plan to implement SaaS solutions before the end of the year, eWeek.com reported.ADNFCR-2178-ID-19323645-ADNFCR
